Research Interests
I am a final-year Life Science student specializing in Environmental Biology and minoring in Aquatic Ecology. My journey into marine sciences began while working in the scuba diving industry, where I had the opportunity to dive alongside marine researchers. I'm deeply fascinated by coral biodiversity and reef restoration. I previously conducted a project investigating the impacts of discarded fishing lines on sessile marine organisms and another project studying the responses of Acropora corals to low light conditions.
Honours Project
This project aims to reconstruct and establish a historical baseline of coral biodiversity in Singapore during the 1960s, prior to land reclamation. By analysing coral skeletons collected by Chuang Shou-Hwa during that period, coral species that existed in Singapore’s reef will be identified and documented. This historical baseline can be used to understand changes in coral biodiversity over time and to inform current and future conservation efforts.
