Research Interests and PhD Project

My research so far has focused on marine benthic ecology, primarily the growth and calcium carbonate production of coral reef ecosystems. While I find corals fascinating, my favorite organisms to study are red algae, specifically coralline red algae. For my PhD project, I hope to tie my broader interests in biogeography, population ecology, and morphology into an investigation of the diversity of rhodophytes in Southeast Asia’s waters.
